The Beale Memorial Clock Tower was originally located at the intersection of 17th Street and Chester Avenue in downtown Bakersfield. The citizens of Kern County reconstructed the clock tower in 1964 using the original clock works. It now stands at the Kern County Museum and serves as the quintessential symbol of Kern County.
