ommemorative giving opportunities, detailed here, allow donors to help fund specific aspects of the Museum either in their own names or as tributes or memorials to others.
To honor those making campaign donations in the amounts specified, the Kern County Museum Foundation invites donors to name selected spaces shown on the site plan. Example: John Doe Visitor Center or XYZ Corporation Entrance Plaza. Dollar amounts reflect commemorative values, not actual construction or renovation costs. Donors may combine gifts to name spaces.
Endowment Funds
General Operating Endowment Unrestricted or undesignated endowment contributions provide the most helpful and flexible way to support the Kern County Museum. Donations at any level are welcomed.
Designated Endowment Funds Donors wishing to designate endowment support for a particular area of the Museum’s operations and programs may do so. Contributions may be pooled for investment purposes, but the interest income will be used to reflect donors’ wishes. Named funds may be established for a minimum of $10,000.
Donors will be recognized in publicity related to the particular activity. Example: This education program is underwritten in part by education endowments established by the John Smith Family and the John Doe Corporation.

Helps fund family activities, community events, and programs for people with special needs
- Collection Care and Acquisition Endowment
Allows the Museum to provide state-of-the-art care for its collection as well as to continue acquiring historic and cultural artifacts
- Historic Structures Endowment
Aids with continuing upkeep and enhancement of the Museum’s historic structures and landscapes
