STARTING SEPTEMBER 13, 2010, THE MUSEUM WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS

The Kern County Museum's hours of operation are:

  • Monday through Saturday - 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Sundays - 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Tickets for admittance to the museum are sold until 3:00 p.m. each day.
  • Lori Brock Children's Discovery Center closes at 4:30.
  • Black Gold: The Oil Experience closes at 3:00, Monday-Friday, and 3:30 on Saturday and Sunday.

The museum is closed on the following days:

  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • Lincoln's Birthday
  • President's Day
  • Easter
  • Memorial Day
  • Fourth of July
  • Labor Day
  • Veteran's Day
  • Thanksgiving Eve
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day
  • New Year's Eve
  • New Year's Day
