The Kern County Museum contains over 50 historic structures and exhibits amid 16 acres of beautiful grounds. This setting makes an ideal location for numerous types of private and public functions. The Kern County Museum offers a remarkable setting for your next business meeting, company party, wedding or reunion!

Wedding Ceremonies and Receptions are especially elegant in this historic setting. Built in 1892, St. John's Episcopal Mission provides a perfect location for your special ceremony. Afterwards, choose from several indoor and outdoor sites for a large or intimate reception. It all adds up to a memory that will last forever.

If you would like to take a self-guided tour of the museum grounds, to determine which location would suit your event, you may stop by the museum gift store during regular business hours, sign in as a guest and tour the various rental locations at no cost.

To reserve a date for a special event, a non-refundable $500.00 reservation fee is required. The non-refundable reservation deposit for Lori Brock Birthdays is $50.00, and for a Chapel Ceremony is $100.00. The non-refundable fee will be applied toward your final balance. An additional $65 Kern County Museum Membership fee is also required if you are not already a museum member. Business events consisting of more than 250 guests require a general business membership.

Prices as presented above are for private events such as weddings, quinceaneras, picnics and parties for 500 or less.  Public car shows, concerts, fundraisers or other events are subject to special event fees of at least $5.00 per paying attendee or sponsor, when 1000 or more are expected.  For events of 500 to 1000 people there is a $5,000 minimum fee.  Each event has to be evaluated on an individual basis to determine the actual fees.
