Fellows, California
Named for railroad employee Charles A. Fellows, Fellows was established in 1910 following the drilling of Midway Gusher 2-6 which blew in November 1909. Fellows is located about 5 miles northwest of Taft. The same year the town was established, L. R. Buchanan built the Hotel Fellows for Martha Derminghem Buress. In 1989, the Santa Fe Energy Company donated the Hotel Fellows to the Kern County Museum where it resides today.
