Rosedale, California

Located about 8 miles west of Bakersfield on Highway 178, Rosedale was originally a colony of English farmers who settled around a townsite purchased from the Kern County Land Company. The colony failed due to several droughts and poor farming practices, and most of the original English settlers moved away.
