Garlock, California

Located about 10 miles northwest of Randsburg, Garlock was originally called Cow Wells because it offered much-needed water to the local prospectors and freighters. In 1896, Eugene Garlock built a stamp mill to crush the gold ore from the Yellow Aster Mine on Rand Mountain and the resulting town was named in his honor.
