Roscoe Martin Corral

Horses played a large part in every phase of the westward movement. They were indispensible to the cattle industry. Corrals like the Roscoe Martin Stock Corral were a common sight throughout the County in the late 1800s.

HISTORY:
The Roscoe Martin Stock Corral is constructed of hand-split Blue Oak rails cut around 1865 near the foothill community of Glennville, California. Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Martin donated this horse corral to the museum. The corral was rebuilt on the museum grounds in 1956. In 2002 the corral was moved  to a new location on the museum grounds and restored.
