Oscar Whittington

oscarwhittingtonFiddle: Oscar Whittington learned to play the fiddle as a child from his father. He began performing in Bakersfield in 1947 at the Rhythm Rancho. There he met local country musician, Bill Woods. He performed on Cousin Herb Henson’s Trading Post Show. He appeared on the television show, The Waltons, in the 1970s. Whittington has played music with Buck Owens, Marty Robbins, Hank Williams, Tex Ritter, Ferlin Husky, Tommy Duncan, Red Simpson, Bud Hobbs, Jelly Sanders and Lefty Frizzell.
